Know What You Need
Before you even contact a professional junk removal company, you first need to assess your specific needs. For example, do you need to have a specific area of your yard cleared out? Do you only want half of your basement cleaned up? What types of materials need to be hauled away?
Let the junk removal company in Nassau County know exactly what your needs are so that they devise an effective strategy.
Write Down What You Want Removed
Whether you have a big pile of landscaping debris in your backyard that you want to get rid of or a large collection of things in your basement that you need to clear out, you’re going to want to write down exactly what it is that you want to have hauled away. Doing so will help the crew know what items need to go and which should stay. It will also help them determine what type of preparations and precautions they need to make to safely remove and properly recycle or dispose of your items.
Remove What You Want to Keep
If there’s anything you want to keep, remove it from the space before the junk removal crew arrives. For instance, if you are clearing out your attic and there are keepsakes or collectibles stored in it that you want to keep, take them out of the space. Accidents can happen, and even the most professional and highly experienced junk removal company may encounter issues. Something could end up being tossed out that you didn’t want to go, or an item could break. To avoid pitfalls, remove the things that you know you definitely want to keep.
Ensure Easy Access in Nassau County
Make sure that the space that you need cleared out is easy to access. For example, if you need to have your garage cleared, ensure that there aren’t any objects blocking the path and that they crew can get in and out with ease. Additionally, you should also clear a space for the dumpster that the junk removal professionals will be bringing along and loading up. Make sure that the dumpster can be positioned in a location that is close to the area where they will be working and that nothing is obstructing that area.
While a professional junk removal company will certainly take care of clearing out and hauling away your junk, preparing the space for them will ensure that they won’t run into problems and that they can get the job done as quickly as possible.

Saddle Rock is a village on the Great Neck Peninsula in the Town of North Hempstead, in Nassau County, on the North Shore of Long Island, in New York, United States. The population was 830 at the 2010 census.
The first settlers arrived in the 17th century. The Village of Saddle Rock is so named for an offshore boulder that gives the appearance of a saddle, first noted on a map in 1658.
The village is also home to a historic mill. Officially known as the Saddle Rock Grist Mill, it was built circa 1700 and is located inside a small cove that opens onto Little Neck Bay off Long Island Sound. The mill is listed in the National Register of Historic Places and is the oldest continually operating tidal grist mill in the United States. The mill is now owned and operated by Nassau County as a working museum open to the public. The mill has been restored to its mid-19th-century appearance and is located on Grist Mill Lane in Saddle Rock.
The first Mayor of Saddle Rock was Roswell Eldridge, who was appointed “Acting Mayor” after he had incorporated his own private estate as the Village of Saddle Rock in 1911.
